Inclement Weather Policy:
In the event of inclement weather, Platte County EDC meetings will be canceled if the Park Hill School District closes.
Quarterly Luncheons
Each year, Platte County EDC hosts quarterly luncheons to deliver relevant and timely information to our members and other attendees. In 2025, our luncheon topics included:

This event highlighted four influential female leaders in the Kansas City region. Our panelists included:

Business Excellence Awards
For over 30 years, Platte County EDC has proudly recognized hundreds of businesses at our end-of-year Business Excellence Awards luncheon. This signature event celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of our local businesses, honoring their contributions to job creation, major expansions, capital investment projects, and other significant achievements that strengthen Platte County's economy and community.
In 2025, 11 businesses and individuals were recognized for their achievements, including:

High Stakes Power Hour
Platte County EDC hosts monthly happy hour networking events on the second Tuesday of each month at Argosy Casino's Room 101 Speakeasy. This FREE event offers two hours of unscripted time for PCEDC members, partners, elected officials, and potential new members to interact and discuss all things Platte County.

The Platte County Workforce Alliance (WFA) unites influential leaders from Platte County’s business sector and educational institutions. Collaboratively, they commission labor studies, facilitate career exploration opportunities for students, foster relationships to elevate employer training, and promote the region as an ideal business destination. Beginning in 2023, the alliance convened multiple times throughout the year to formulate a strategic approach dedicated to maximizing community benefits in workforce development. This culminated in the formation of three specialized subcommittees, each dedicated to refining the alliance’s focus. These subcommittees include:
The Community Development Committee provides in-depth updates on development initiatives and projects shaping Platte County. These monthly meetings offer members firsthand access to current and upcoming development efforts, the opportunity to hear directly from project leaders and subject-matter experts, and meaningful connections with local leaders and community partners.
