Matt Tapp became Executive Director for the Platte County Economic Development Council on October 1, 2019. Prior to this he was the Economic Development Director for the City of Raymore, where he:

  • Led, managed and coordinated all aspects of the economic development function
  • Secured a total investment of $110+ million and brought more than 165 jobs to the community
  • Cultivated and obtained interest in new projects equaling $355+ million in investment and 2,000+ in jobs
  • Conducted 52+ business retention and expansion interviews with existing businesses
  • Generated 220+ leads with developers and business, and responded to various Requests for Information

Matt also served as the Director of Planning and Zoning for Clay County, Missouri where he ensured the department ran at the utmost level of efficiency and effectiveness.

Stephanie Deppen
Business & Member Outreach Manager

Stephanie Deppen joins the PCEDC as the Business and Member Outreach Manager. She brings with her over a decade of experience in customer-liaison roles with all levels of an organization.  Her key role with the PCEDC is listening to businesses and members so her customer service skills are a great match for the position. She has been involved in various areas of business including insurance, real estate, government and law.  Stephanie always strives to create healthy and sustainable relationships and partnerships, another critical skill for her position. With her professional experience and relationship building skills, she is a welcome addition to the PCEDC.
