2025 Project Platte County Windshield Tour

On October 21st, the Platte County Economic Development Council (PCEDC) welcomed business and community leaders for the first annual Project Platte County Windshield Tour, a day dedicated to exploring the exciting growth and development across the county.

This event gave attendees an up-close look at the key projects shaping the region's future, from commercial developments to expanding infrastructure and community amenities. Participants had the opportunity to see firsthand the progress driving Platte County's continued success as one of the fastest-growing counties in the state of Missouri.

The morning began at ARCO Construction, where attendees enjoyed breakfast and networking before diving into a discussion on the regional project pipeline. The panel, featuring Tina Chace from PCEDC, Elli Houston from KC SmartPort, and Christa Atchison from Evergy, provided valuable insights on the current project process and future initiatives fueling growth across Platte County and the greater Kansas City region.

Afterward, attendees boarded the bus for a guided tour. The first two Riverside stops, Live Nation Amphitheater and the KC Current Training Facility, were led by Mike Duffy with the City of Riverside, who shared updates on these high-profile developments and their impact on the community's growth.

The next stop was KCI 29 Logistics Park, where Aaron Schmidt and Ryan Tompkins from Hunt Midwest provided an overview of the large-scale industrial development taking shape in the 3,300-acre park. They discussed how the project is positioned to bring significant investment, infrastructure, and employment opportunities to Platte County.

Following that, the tour visited Platte International Commerce Center in Platte City. David Rezac from VanTrust, along with members of the JLL team, highlighted the site's role in attracting new business and supporting Platte City's expanding economic footprint.

The final stop of the tour was Creekside Development in Parkville, where Ed Linnebur with Parkville Area Chamber & EDC and Ben Nelson with Windfield Real Estate presented on the mixed-use development's progress and future opportunities. Attendees concluded the day with a happy hour at Johnny's Tavern.

Project Platte County showcased the collaboration, investment, and strategic planning that make these developments successful, highlighting the innovation driving Platte County's growth. This event would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors. A special thank you to:
