Platte County R-3 School District

The Platte County R-3 School District is centrally located in Platte County, with over 40% of its area within Kansas City limits. The district serves approximately 4,283 students across nine traditional school buildings, an early childhood center, and the Northland Career Center. Platte County R-3 has consistently earned a perfect score on the Annual Performance Report from the Missouri Department of Education.

Park Hill School District

The Park Hill School District serves the southern portion of Platte County, just north of downtown Kansas City, Missouri. With an enrollment of 11,698 students, the district provides comprehensive education from pre-K through grade 12. Park Hill is a recipient of the Missouri Quality Award and has earned AdvancED District Accreditation, an internationally recognized mark of educational excellence.

The West Platte School District, located in historic Weston, is committed to preserving the past while building a strong future for its students. Accredited with Distinction in Performance, the district consistently achieves some of the highest MAP scores in Missouri. West Platte serves approximately 739 students through one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school.

The North Platte R-1 School District, located in northeastern Platte County, serves the communities of Camden Point, Dearborn, and Edgerton with a total enrollment of 615 students. The district has consistently earned the state's highest academic rating, Accredited with Distinction in Performance, and was recognized with the "What Parents Want Award" by SchoolMatch, an independent school selection consulting firm.

Metropolitan Community College - Maple Woods

MCC-Maple Woods is one of five campuses within the Metropolitan Community College System, located in the Northland. It has played an important role in workforce education, offering job training and classes to achieve an associate's degree or other certification, both online and in the classroom. Maple Woods also has transfer agreements with several four-year institutions, making it an excellent starting point for students planning to pursue a bachelor's degree.
