Full Employment Council

The Full Employment Council (FEC) is a business-led private, non-profit corporation whose mission is to obtain public and private sector employment for the unemployed and underemployed residents of the greater Kansas City area. FEC accomplishes this goal by collaborating with businesses, local government, educational institutions, labor, and community-based organizations. FEC responds to regional employer needs while reducing unemployment, underemployment, and the public dependency of area residents.

MCC - Workforce & Economic Development

The Workforce and Economic Development Division (WED) of Metropolitan Community College is the leader in innovative workforce solutions and community enrichment. Their programs and services are designed to provide short-term and low-cost educational opportunities for high-demand workforce occupations, as well as connecting with certificate and degree programs that provide pathways into careers in key industry sectors.

Northland Career Center

The Northland Career Center (NCC) is a public, not-for-profit career and technical education school located within the Platte County R-3 School District in Platte City. NCC offers a wide range of daytime training programs for high school students, including health services, diesel mechanics, and more. It also offers youth before/after school programs and evening community education classes for adults. For many years, NCC has been a trusted source of skilled, job-ready workers for the region.

Northland CAPS

The Northland Center for Advanced Professional Studies (Northland CAPS) is the premier provider of professional, hands-on learning for high school juniors and seniors in Kansas City's Northland. The program connects students from participating districts with high-demand, high-skill career paths through full-immersion experiences in business environments around Platte and Clay counties.

Park Hill Professional Studies

The Park Hill Professional Studies program provides students with authentic learning experiences and meaningful professional connections. Professional Studies is one program that consists of three strands: Aspiring Educators, Aspiring Medical Professionals, and Aspiring Professionals. Through partnerships with individuals and businesses, Professional Studies connects what is taught in the classroom with what occurs in the workplace.

Northland Workforce Development Center

A brand new, state-of-the-art workforce center

A thriving workforce is the backbone of a strong community, driving economic growth and stability. Skilled workers help communities prosper by increasing consumer activity, generating higher tax revenues, and supporting improved infrastructure. A robust workforce also fuels innovation and entrepreneurship, creating opportunities for both individual achievement and collective success.

To help meet the region's growing workforce demands, the Northland Workforce Development Center (NWDC) is undertaking a $74 million campaign to build a state-of-the-art facility that will serve as a central hub for both students and adult learners. This new center will expand our capacity to train future workers and build a strong talent pipeline for area employers.

Spanning 145,000 square feet, NWDC is strategically located to serve the surrounding region and the greater Kansas City area. Designed with two floors of industry-specific training spaces, the facility is built to address the increasing demand for skilled labor across a wide range of sectors. NWDC is the result of over eight years of research and careful planning, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of students, adult learners, and the broader community throughout the Northland and Kansas City region.
