2022 Q2 Member Luncheon: State of the Economy

Allison SchultzNews

The Platte County Economic Development Council (PCEDC) hosted its second Quarterly Member Luncheon on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Hilton KCI. Sponsored by Central Bank of the Midwest, the luncheon featured local Economist and Managing Director of Armada Corporate Intelligence, Chris Kuehl.

PCEDC Chairman Scott Zigler of Zona Rosa kicked off the luncheon by recognizing many of the elected officials, high-level PCEDC investors, board members, and special guests in attendance. Recognition was also given to new PCEDC investors, including Anderson Engineering, JUNK Architects, Kelly Construction Group, Meta, RE/MAX House of Dreams, and individual member, Michael Soler.

The Title Sponsor, Central Bank of the Midwest, graciously gifted each attendee a Sporting KC scarf. They also raffled off a signed Sporting KC jersey to a lucky member of the audience. Thank you to Central Bank for your generosity and support of this luncheon!

PCEDC sincerely thanks Chris Kuehl for taking the time to speak with our group. He provided critical insight into the economy’s current state and what to expect as we continue to move forward.

The three main key takeaways from the program were:
– Continue to watch the PMI (Purchasing Managers’ Index). You can view the PMI at the link HERE.
– Technology is still KING.
– The labor shortage is here to stay.
