The Platte County Commission established the CARES “Survive & Thrive” Small Business Grant Program in June 2020 to be administered by the Platte County EDC. This program utilizes their CARES Act funds to assist small businesses in Platte County, Missouri.
The program is to be authorized and implemented by the Platte County Commission to enable the distribution of funds from the CARES Act for the purpose of providing assistance to small businesses due to COVID-19 related business closures. Only small businesses with a physical presence in Platte County, Missouri (MO) may apply.
Platte County small businesses support our county and region each and every day through their efforts to support the community. Small businesses are a ground for entrepreneurs, a vibrant source of innovation and competition, and an essential source of employment in the region. Protecting them during the COVID -19 crises will be important for supporting our eventual recovery.
ROUND 2 OF FUNDING
Another round of funding has been authorized by the Platte County Commission. Both new and previous applicants are invited to submit their request for grant funding.
- For New Applicants: all expenses submitted for reimbursement must be incurred and documented for March 1 – December 1, 2020.
- “New Applicant” is defined as an applicant who did not receive any grant funding in Round 1.
- For Previous Applicants requesting Round 2 Grants: all expenses submitted for reimbursement must be incurred and documented from July 1 – December 1, 2020.
- “Previous Applicant” is defined as an applicant who received grand funding in Round 1
Platte County, Missouri (MO) small businesses are encouraged to apply right away. The amount of funds to distribute through the program will be determined solely at the discretion of the Advisory Committee and Platte County Commission. After evaluation by the Advisory Committee, the Platte County Commission will then determine the successful applicants under the grant application process and shall determine the amount of each grant.
