PCEDC holds quarterly member luncheon

The Platte County Economic Development Council held its Quarterly Member Luncheon on September 7, 2018 at the KCI Hilton. The luncheon was sponsored by TranSystems, and features a panel related to the theme of “All Things Transportation.”

PCEDC Treasurer Mike Duffy, City of Riverside, served as emcee and kicked off the luncheon by recognizing elected officials, high-level PCEDC investors, board members, and economic development partners in attendance.

New investors  in 2018 were also recognized, and they were: Braun Intertec Corporation, Clarkson Construction Company, CVS Health, Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate, Engaged Companies, George K Baum, Hillcrest Platte County, Kaw Valley Engineering, MULTIVAC, ROSNET, RT Rustics, Superior Bowen and TeamLogic IT.

The “All Things Transportation” panel featured Representative Kevin Corlew, who spoke about SaferMO.com, a campaign committee dedicated to the passage of Proposition D. The PCEDC Board has endorsed Prop. D, and urges its members to vote yes in November.

Then Justin Meyer, Deputy Director of Aviation – Marketing and Air Service Development at the City of Kansas City, gave an update on the new terminal at KCI. Visit kci-edgemoor or Flykci.com for details.

Finally, Jeff Martin, City Engineer Capital Projects, Public Works, City of Kansas City, Mo. spoke about transportation projects going on in Kansas City, Platte County. Duffy concluded the luncheon by providing details on transportation infrastructure projects going on in  Platte County communities Riverside, Platte City and Parkville.
