Platte County Park Hill, Platte County R-3 and Northland Career Center students participated in National Manufacturing Day activities on Friday, October 6th. Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufactures and takes place the first Friday in October. MFG DAY addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufactures an opportunity to open their doors and show what manufacturing is.
A total of 86 students had the opportunity to tour 5 local advance manufacturing companies: Multivac, Haldex, Challenge Manufacturing, Aviation Technical Services and Harley Davidson. Students toured the facility floors and saw equipment being manufactured first hand. They visited the different departments to learn about career opportunities available in the industry and education required for different positions.
