Kansas City, MO – Newmark Grubb Zimmer, in cooperation with CBRE, announced it has leased 432,000 SF at KCI Intermodal BusinessCentre, in Kansas City, Missouri to BMS Logistics, Inc (BMS).

Headquartered in St. Joseph, Missouri and operating 14 facilities in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Pennsylvania, BMS provides total turn-key solutions concentrating in warehousing, contract packaging, fulfillment, distribution, and market development.

BMS plans to employ roughly 200 at the facility and focus their operations around contract packaging, assembly and distribution of PDQ’s and palletized displays, along with picking and packing for both retail and e-commerce fulfillment. This facility will increase BMS’s footprint in the US to over 2.5 million square feet. BMS is scheduled to move into LogisticsCentre IV in January of 2018.

LogisticsCentre IV is a class A warehouse/distribution center that was developed on a speculative basis by a joint venture between Trammell Crow Company and Clarion Partners, both of which are based out of Dallas, TX. “We are pleased to welcome BMS as the latest occupant to our 687-acre master planned business park. Having a third-party logistics provider like BMS in the park will help drive other users to the project,” said Jim Didion, the business unit leader for Trammell Crow Company in KC.

BMS evaluated all modern, high cube distribution facilities in the Northland before eventually settling on the KCI Intermodal BusinessCentre. The proximity to St. Joseph and their anticipated customer base in Kansas City, as well as the quality of the building confirmed their decision to lease the entire LogisticsCentre IV building. “BMS’ decision to locate to the KCI Corridor affirms Platte County’s position as a leader for the logistics sector,” said Alicia Stephens, the Executive Director of Platte County Economic Development Council.

“The new facility will allow us to expand our service offerings to the Kansas City Market as well as provide increased capabilities to our national customer base through Kansas City’s dynamic transportation network,” said Dan Bayer, BMS President.

This will be the first BMS operation in the Kansas City market although they have served Kansas City companies in the past, from their St. Joseph facilities. For more information you can find us at www.bmslogisticsinc.com or, contact Bart Bond, national sales and marketing at 913-579-2865.
