International Auto Supplier Selects Platte County for New Manufacturing Facility

Ontario, Canada-based Martinrea International,Inc. has selected Riverside, Mo., as the location for a new full-service facility to supply the GM assembly plant in Fairfax, Kan. The company will invest multi-millions in the 275,560-sq.-ft. facility, and create 290 new jobs.

Martinrea Riverside, LLC will be located at 5233 NW 41st Street, in Riverside, and will perform four select processes within the facility: stamping, welding, e-coat and final assembly. The operation is the first of its kind in the world for a Tier One automotive supplier.

“Martinrea’s selection of Riverside continues to prove what a prime location Riverside Horizons is for businesses in the automotive industry,” said Riverside Mayor Kathy Rose. “The location not only meets a variety of logistical needs, but a great synergy is starting to develop from having multiple tier one automotive suppliers all located in the same area.”

Metropolitan Community College has worked to support Martinrea from the beginning of their site selection helping them understand the education, training and consulting services the college is able to provide.
