The team members bring a wealth of excellent economic development and marketing experience to their work. All share a deep commitment to Platte County and a strong desire to help it succeed and grow.

Alicia Stephens
Executive Director

Alicia Stephens became Executive Director for the Platte County Economic Development Council on June 29, 2012. Prior to this she served the Liberty Economic Development Corporation since its inception in 2005, bringing extensive economic development experience to the community. Stephens began her economic development career originally with the PCEDC in September 1993.


Since returning to PCEDC in June 2012, Stephens has led the organization’s business attraction and expansion project work that has yielded:

  • 5 million square footage of occupancy
  • More than 7000 new and retained jobs
  • $158 million dollars in capital investment in Platte County

Through successful partnerships, during Stephens’ tenure, the Liberty Economic Development Corporation retained 525 jobs, expanded 165 jobs and recruited 13 projects to the Liberty area; creating 635 jobs and more than $155 million in investment. Prior to moving to the Liberty area, Ms. Stephens was Program Director for PCEDC for 12 years, during which time she developed several programs including its Business Outreach program, the Northland School to Career Partnership (a grant funded program) and the incubation of a Convention & Visitors Bureau now administered by the Platte County Visitors Bureau.

Stephanie Neppl
Marketing & Public Relations Manager


At the PCEDC, Stephanie leads marketing activities, including website and social media. She is the first point of contact for anyone looking for Platte County statistics and works extensively on business attraction projects. Contact Stephanie for any sites and buildings questions.

Career highlights:

Stephanie was previously the Executive Director of the Estherville Area Chamber of Commerce and Director of Communications of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Before that she spent 8 years in New Zealand working in communication and public relations roles in tourism and major sporting event industries. Her background is in traditional media, and she worked in print and online media roles in Beijing, China and New Zealand.

Lynette Palmer
Business & Member Outreach Manager


Lynette Palmer became the Business & Member Outreach Manager for the Platte County Economic Development Council on March 15, 2017.

Career highlights:

Prior to joining the PCEDC, Lynette has been in commercial real estate property management as a Senior Property Manager at NAI Heartland and the Director of Property & Facilities Management at Newmark Grubb Zimmer.  Lynette has been in the property management industry for  18 years.

  • Member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) KC, including serving on the Membership Committee.
