Several higher education choices exist in Platte County. Available programs range from dual credit (high school, college) to Associates, Bachelors and Masters programs, as well as occupational programs. Offerings grow constantly. Vocational/technical career center housed on the Platte County R-III
campus in Platte City with all Platte County school districts serving
as ‘sending schools’. Programs include HVAC, Building
Trades, Health Services and Culinary Arts among others. NCC offers
adult education classes too.
Classes offered through Platte County Public School Districts (dual
credit). The Maple Woods campus is located in Clay County, just 10
minutes from KCI Airport.
Park University is located in Parkville. Its beautiful campus is
nestled in the bluff along the Missouri River. Students, however,
do not have to come to campus to obtain a degree. Park has one of
the largest internet class offerings in the nation. Park has both
undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

credit). Additionally, UMKC offers a Masters Program in the Northland,
just 5 minutes from KCI Airport in the Platte County Resource Center.
Classes are offered at the Platte County Resource Center. University
of Mary offers MBA and MSN programs at this location.
The main campus is located in St. Joseph, 40 minutes north of KCI Airport. This four year institution offers degree completion programs through Western Institute at Tuileries Plaza.
