Platte City(population 4,907) is the county seat for Platte County.  Platte City is located in the northern area of Platte County, approximately 5 miles north of the Kansas City International Airport. 



                      


Platte City's intersection at Interstate 29 and highway 92 has seen major development recently, spurring a significant growth in all sectors including hosuing, retail and restaurants. 


                                             



of interest to history buffs are the Platte County Courthouse, built in 1867, and the Ben Ferrel Platte County Museum, an 1882 Victorian mini mansion and replica of the Governor's Mansion in Jefferson City.
