Riverside is a community that is in the process of re-making itself.  From public improvements such as roads, sidewalks and the construction of a new city hall and public safety building, to private development such as the recent expansion of the popular Corner Cafe' and the building of a new Performing Arts Center, Riverside is undergoing a makeover.

Riverside is home to Argosy Riverboat Casino, which provides a source of revenue used for the redevelopment of the city's infrastructure.  Argosy casino is located next to the Army Corps of Engineers $80 million Riverside-Quindaro Bend Levee project.  The levee which will free 1,200 acres of flood-prone land for development was completed in 2004.
