Tourism

From the charm of a small town winery to the excitement of big city shopping, Platte County offers visitors a long list of attractions to entertain and entice all ages and tastes.   Our communities proudly feature an array of one-of-a-kind restaurants, historic sites, high fashion shops, museums, live theatre…the list goes on.   For Platte County residents, every weekend presents a vacation’s worth of fun—and what a pleasure it is for those residents to entertain out of town family and business guests with so many attractions to choose from.

Here’s just a sampling:

Zona Rosa has quickly become a Platte County and Kansas City destination shopping center.  This mixed-use lifestyle center has shopping, dining, entertainment and living down to an art.  Annual events such as summer concerts in Town Square, visits by the Fairy Princess, Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny during the holiday seasons bring visitors young and old to the center.

Parkville, home to unique art shops, antique stores, and several locally owned restaurants, also features a river walk and a riverfront park that hosts a weekend jazz festival every summer.

Tuileries Plaza, pronounced "twee luh reez," is an upscale specialty lifestyle center located two blocks west of I-29 on NW 64th Street and 45 Highway. The 330,000-square-foot project sits on 50 acres and includes fashion retailers, specialty shops and professional offices.

Weston, the town has retained much of its original architecture; enjoy quaint bed & breakfast spots, charming restaurants, several antique shops, and a memorable historic atmosphere that pervades every corner.
